A fundraising campaign has started for the Watertown family left homeless by a weekend fire.

The blaze tore through the Sample family’s New York Ave. home early Saturday morning.

Kyle Sample, a Fort Drum soldier, was able to get his two children, wife and mother-in-law to safety with the help of a quick-thinking neighbor.

All five were treated for burns, Kyle suffering severe burns across his back.

To help cover expenses, a gofundme page has been created by friends.

If you would like to help, search “fort-drum-family-in-need” at gofundme.com.
