Grand Opening of The Watertown International Airport Business Center in Memory of Mary Cooper Cox

On Friday, July 27, 2015 The Watertown International Airport had the grand opening of its business center in memory of Mary Cooper Cox.

The new office facility includes conference room space, pilot lounge, FBO/General Aviation service counter, lobby area, weather briefing area, kitchenette, flight school space, and airport administrative staff offices.

Mary Cooper Cox started flying in 1942 under the instruction of Russ Walling, flight instructor and operations manager at Watertown Airport. She graduated with the 11th class of WASPs at Avenger Field, Sweetwater, Texas, in April 1944. She served as an instructor at the Naval base in Miami and as a test pilot at Cochran Field, Macon, Ga.
