No one was hurt after a privately owned helicopter made a crash landing along the Black River near Carthage Sunday afternoon. Emergency responders arrived to the scene at around 3 pm. When they did arrive, they found the two occupants of the craft had already walked away from the scene and were not hurt. Those who were on board were identified as Gary Johnson and Mike Rohr. The chopper had landed on the ice of the river near Gamble’s Distributors. What caused the helicopter to crash is unknown and still under investigation. The crash caused the closure of State Rt. 3 for about an hour late Sunday afternoon.
