In something of a trend, Jefferson County lawmakers passed a resolution opposing the creation of wind farms due to their potential harmful side effects on Fort Drum.

The move coming a day after Watertown City Council members passed a similar measure.

All but one county legislator voted in agreement for the resolution, which, according to the Watertown Daily Times, not only opposes wind turbine projects in the area, but supports any federal or state help blocking the addition of wind farms.

Recently, lawmakers and Fort Drum supporters have voiced concerns that the turbines distort radar and other equipment on post.
