Tonight is the last scheduled session to discuss the latest budget for lawmakers in Watertown.

The proposed $42.5 million spending plan would come with a 4.5 percent hike on property taxes and increased fees for services like seasonal skating passes at the new arena and renting fields at the Fairgrounds complex.

Last week, however, council decided against cutting hours and one part-time position at Flower Memorial Library.

After this evening’s meeting, members will likely adopt the budget at a meeting called for early June.
