A couple of old local spots in the North Country are in the running to be considered for the State and National Registers of Historic Places.

The Hepburn Library in St. Lawrence County and the Old Lowville Cemetery have been recommended to the organization.

The library Lisbon is closing in on its 100th birthday, while the cemetery contains Revolutionary and Civil War veterans.

If recognized officially by the State and National Registers of Historic Places, both locations would become eligible for various programs and grants.
