The man picked by the Jefferson County Legislature last week to be the new county planner has declined the job over the questions on his degree. Frank Pace was hired after the county made changes to the residency requirements that would allow him to remain in Lewis County. Then came questions over his qualifications due to his degree, which came from an online college that was never accredited. The controversy came to an end Monday when Pace told the county he was declining the job offer. He remains Lewis County Planner, although officials there now have to determine if his degree issues are creating a similar problem.
