Some additional details have been released in regards to an upcoming lawsuit being filed against St. Lawrence County District Attorney Mary Rain by a former Assistant DA. Brenna Ryan was fired by Rain earlier this year and a notice of claim was filed last month. In the notice of claim, Ryan claims that Rain used foul and sexually suggestive language in the DA’s. office. It’s also alleged that Rain treated men in the office better than she did female employees. The notice of claim also alleges that recent grand jury action against now retired County Administrator Karen St. Hilaire was in retaliation for Rain being fired while working in the Public Defender’s office back in 2011. Rain’s attorney has disputed the charges outlined in the notice of claim.
