We’ve had a run on senior cats. Usually we have a requirement that an animal be five or under for adoption at the SPCA. However, some circumstances require us to bend that rule from time to time. If an owner has become ill, hospitalized or gone into a nursing home, or one the rare occassion, passed away while caring for an animal we try to do the responsible thing and help the family with the animal. Shubert is just such one animal. He’s just over five years of age, a marmalade tabby and a great little boy. When we seek adopters for these senior cats we lower the adoption fee from $80 to $40 to encourage someone to give these poor cats a new chance. Stop by the shelter and check out Shubert or one of the other seniors we have available. They are up to date on shots, spayed or neutered and have their micro-chip for identification purposes. It’s a good deal and a good opportunity to do good for one of these seniors!
