With a change in leadership comes a change in direction for the St. Lawrence County District Attorney’s office.

Newly-elected DA Gary Pasqua has decided to end an investigation into alleged “misconduct, nonfeasance and neglect” by county leaders and employees. Previous District Attorney Mary Rain started the probe back in 2014, claiming the county was impromperly using certain federal and state funds.

But according to the Watertown Daily Times, after nothing illegal was ever uncovered, Pasqua halted the investigation on the recommendation of St. Lawrence County Attorney Stephen Button.
