New York is preparing to look at potential side effects of legalizing marijuana for recreational use in the state.
The Department of Health is set to review whether legalizing pot could cause for an increase in car accidents, crime, and its potential to create more health issues. The study would also look at how recreational pot would impact the economy.
Officials are looking into the move since it could soon be legal in New Jersey where the new governor, Phil Murphy, campaigned on legalizing pot.
