A skunk found Monday on the grounds of Thompson Park in Watertown has tested positive for rabies.

That’s according to Jefferson County Public Health, which says another skunk found at the park is also being tested for the disease.

With the latest confirmed finding, it’s now 21 cases of rabies reported in Jefferson County since December.

As always, officials warn everyone to use precaution, especially with outdoor pet’s food and when walking through wooded areas.
