Almost 10 percent, that’s how much the number of state workers making over $100,000 jumped in the last year.

And the highest paid typically work in either the SUNY system or at teaching hospitals.

Those numbers are according to the Democrat and Chronicle, which poured over state records and found that close to 33,000 state employees earn more than $100,000 a year, which is up 19 percent in just the last three years.
