Take Back the Night to be held at JCC on April 13
On Monday, April 13 the Jefferson Community College (JCC) Health and Wellness Center will host its annual Take Back the Night (TBTN) event at 7:00 p.m. in the Robert R. and Jean S. Sturtz Theater. Admission is free and the public is welcome to attend.
An internationally observed event to raise awareness of violence against women, TBTN at JCC will feature a march around campus, a panel of guest speakers, and a resource fair. A string of student decorated t-shirts bearing personal messages that speak to violence against women, known as the Clothesline Project, will be on display in the lobby of Sturtz Theater.
Guest speakers are New York State Assemblywoman Addie J. Russell; Chief Assistant District Attorney Kristyna S. Mills; Jefferson County Sheriff Colleen M. O’Neill; representative from Cornell Cooperative Extension, Leslie Cherry; Jennifer Bullock, Licensed Mental Health Counselor Readjustment Counselor from the Department of Veterans Affair Watertown Vet Center; and Dana Willbanks from the JCC Faculty Student Association.
