New York is high on a list that won’t make residents happy.

Financial site 24/7 Wall Street compiled its list of “States with the Highest and Lowest Sales Taxes” and found New York had the ninth highest in the nation.

New York has an average combined local and state sales tax of around eight-and-a-half percent.

Louisiana has the highest sales tax in the nation, while four states don’t levy any sales tax.
