A flight at the Watertown International Airport in Dexter was delayed for approximately five hours Sunday following a reported threat. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department says both they and the TSA received information on an alleged threat regarding American Airlines Flight 3835, which was scheduled to take off for Philadelphia, PA at 2:30 pm Sunday. The TSA received the threat via social media while the Sheriff’s Department says the threat was phoned into them. Police say a male voice claimed that chemicals had been placed on board the jet. Passengers and crew were evacuated. The plane and it’s contents were inspected, but nothing was found. The flight did depart at 7:30 pm. The investigation into the incident is continuing. The FBI has also been notified.
