NEW SCOTLAND, N.Y. (NEWS10) –  Scott Hill, 26, and Megan Karl, 33, face charges after state police said a toddler handed a trooper a bag of drugs.

State police pulled over Hill and Karl on Route 32 in New Scotland, and spotted marijuana joints in the ashtray.

A second trooper checked on the 3-year-old girl in the back seat who was not safely secured.

The 3-year-old then reached under the front seat, grabbed a bag, opened it and handed it to the trooper.

Police said the bag was filled with weed and a smoking pipe.

Both adults were arrested for endangering the welfare of a child.  The little girl was turned over to relatives, and Child Protective Services was notified.
