Two executives with COR Development, the company behind the former Mercy Hospital site redevelopment in Watertown, were among eight people arrested on federal corruption charges Thursday.
Steve Aiello and Joseph Gerardi allegedly gave former Governor Cuomo aide Joe Percoco cash to secure lucrative construction projects in the state.
According to documents, Aiello’s son, who works for Cuomo, was given a $5,000 raise as a part of the deal.
Aiello and Gerardi also face charges of lying to FBI agents.
The project in Watertown is not related to the legal issues facing COR, but it’s not clear right now whether the trouble will affect the plans for the former Mercy Hospital.
