The two men from the North Country arrested in connection to a murder down south are reportedly well known to Watertown Police.

Both 20-year-old Caleb Brown of Watertown and 25-year-old Robert Taplin of Adams are facing multiple charges after a 72-year-old woman was found stabbed to death following a home invasion in Ware County, Georgia.

Among the counts, Brown is charged with murder, while Taplin is facing first-degree arson.

According to 7 News, the vehicle the two men may have used in the murder was stolen from a house in the city of Watertown earlier this month.

Taplin was also previously convicted of third-degree rape and is a Level 2 sex offender wanted by authorties for not properly registering.
