A Fort Drum soldier is accused of resisting arrest when he “tucked his arm under his stomach” after being pulled over for speeding.

Police say 20-year-old Romel Thompson tried to walk away while officers searched his vehicle in the 300 block of Howk Street at about 11:55 Tuesday night.

Thompson also allegedly had two grams of marijuana inside the center console of the car.

Thompson is now facing several charges, including resisting arrest, second-degree obstruction of government administration, and unlawful possession of marijuana.

Thompson was turned over to military custody and is next due in City Court later this month.
