A Watertown man is accused of lying when he called 911 to report that his girlfriend was chasing him with a knife.

According to newzjunky.com, Paul Aex was initially arrested after he allegedly slapped his girlfriend in the face while holding their two-year-old daughter inside the couple’s apartment at about 4:30 Wednesday afternoon.

After investigation, it was determined Aex first lied to a 911 dispatcher about being chased.

He is now facing charges of second-degree harassment, endangering the welfare of a child, and third-degree falsely reporting an incident.

Aex was taken to jail before being arraigned in City Court.
