Watertown Trust not set to spend thousands on new furniture

An organization designed to help bring businesses to the the area will not be spending $6,000 on new furniture.

The Watertown Daily Times reports that the board of the Watertown Trust voted 5-2 against spending the money for a new conference table and other office furniture.

If it had been approved, the Trust would have gotten the table, along with window blinds and a re-paint of the office located at 82 Public Square.

Board members, however, did officially approve spening $12,000 to put on three block parties downtown this summer and another $40,000 to hire a retail consultant.
