Today the owners of the Watertown Wolves met to talk about the plans for the team during the 2015-16 season.
The Watertown City Council has invested in the city’s future and is working on having the Watertown Municipal Arena renovated. However, with the uncertainty of completion dates, the team was obliged to consider other potential venues within a 70 mile radius of Watertown, including sites in Jefferson, St. Lawrence and Oswego counties as well as Southern Ontario. Ultimately, no viable option could be developed and the Watertown Wolves will not play in the Federal Hockey League in the 2015-16 season.
The team has begun to prepare for the 2016-17 season, starting with working towards confirming a lease agreement with the City of Watertown for the new Watertown Municipal Area.
The team will still be holding regular events over the next year to help keep fans apprised of their activities and share progress.
