DARIEN, NY (WROC) – Deputies say they arrested the suspect they believe is responsible for a deadly hit-and-run in Darien over the weekend for driving drunk hours before the victim’s body was found.

48-year-old Jennifer Serrano is charged with vehicular manslaughter and leaving the scene of a personal injury accident.

Deputies say around 12:30 a.m. Saturday, the victim, 18-year-old Connor Lynskey, was walking back to his campsite at Darien Lake State Park from the Jason Aldean concert when he was hit by a vehicle.

His friends called police when Lynskey never made it back to the campsite that night. His body wasn’t found until the next day.

But, shortly after Lynskey was hit, deputies arrested Serrano for driving drunk after they say she nearly hit a Genesee County Sheriff’s deputy’s vehicle.

At that point, Lynskey’s body still had not been located. Serrano was arrested, but released on bail a few hours later.

Serrano was later located at a friend’s home in Amherst.

She is now being held in Genesee County Jail.

According to family members, Lynskey graduated from Holland Patent High School in 2017. He was about to enter his sophomore year at Siena College, where he studied pre-med. He would have turned 19 next month.
