A battle over zoning laws in the village of Evans Mills went to the state Supreme Court yesterday.
The case is centered on the town of LeRay’s plan to build a road that would span from Willow Street in the village to the town’s highway department complex.
That proposal does not follow the village’s zoning laws, and officials in Evans Mills aren’t willing to make an exception.
So the town is suing in order to get an exemption in order to go forward with the plan to build the road.
The two sides have until the middle of the month to submit arguments.
