TOWN OF TYRE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) – An 11-year-old was flown to Upstate University Hospital after his arm became stuck in farming machinery.

Deputies with the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office were called to a Pucker Road home in the Town of Tyre just before 10 a.m.

When they arrived, they found the 11-year-old’s arm stuck in a chain-operated shaft in a conveyor-style wood planing machine.

Investigators say he was working with the machine with his father before the accident.

The boy was freed by firefighters and flown to Upstate.

It appears that a piece of the boy’s clothing became stuck and pulled him into the shaft and trapped him.

Schwartz suffered serious injuries to his arm and is currently undergoing medical treatment.

The accident remains under investigation.
