NY woman accused of pretending to be identical twin sister during traffic stop, drug arrest

SHERIDAN, N.Y. (WIVB) – An Irving woman is charged with lying to Chautauqua County Sheriff’s deputies during a Sunday morning traffic stop in the Town of Sheridan, as well as other charges. 

According to sheriff’s reports, the woman was pulled over Sunday on Center Road and found to be in possession of methamphetamine and a hypodermic needle, and was released with a citation. 

The next day, deputies received information alleging that the woman had provided them with her identical twin sister’s information. 

Maranda Hayden, 24, was charged with second degree criminal impersonation, seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminally possessing a hypodermic instrument, driving without a license, and moving from a lane unsafely. 

She is being held at Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of bail.
