Josh Allen spent parts of last season defending himself against “trash” talk from Jacksonville star corner Jalen Ramsey.
So, it would seem reasonable that Allen may want to talk some of his own trash in return, especially after the Bills beat Ramsey’s Jags last season.
When an autographed picture of Allen surfaced on Monday with an Allen inscription that said, “Hey Ramsey, am I still trash?”, it was assumed revenge was the motive.
As with many social media phenomena, the truth is not nearly as juicy.
Bills fan Jeremy Seilheimer attended an autograph show at Batavia Downs on Sunday that included the Allen.
He brought a large canvas picture of Allen that he wanted to the Bills quarterback to sign. The cost for a signature on such a large item is $125. For an extra $30, a requested inscription can be added. Many ask Hall of Fame athletes to sign the item with a “HOF” next to the name.
Seilheimer and his wife Stacey attended the Bills win over Jacksonville last November. Considering the off the fricas with Ramsey and how well Allen played in the game, Seilheimer thought adding a Billsmafia hashtag with the “Hey, Ramsey, am I still trash?” line would be a “cool inscription and a great addition to my Bills room”.
Allen was happy to oblige. Seilheimer said he was a “great guy”.
Some on social media thought Allen had defaced the picture with the shot back at Ramsey.
On the contrary, Seilheimer couldn’t be happier and he now might have the most valuable piece of Allen memorabilia in the world.
