Bills OC: Thursday was “typical first preseason game”

Buffalo Bills

Thursday’s game against the Carolina Panthers was a “typical first preseason game” with “a lot of good things to learn from,” according to Brian Daboll.

The Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator said quarterbacks AJ McCarron and Nate Peterman will “be ready to go” after getting injured.

The losing battle against the Panthers was followed by an intense practice on Sunday, and Daboll says the team “came back with good intensity.”

“Obviously, you don’t want your guys to scuffle, but that’s the nature of the beast,” he said.

Wide receiver Corey Coleman was praised for “staying late and doing extra,” with Daboll saying “it’s challenging for a player.”

Another wide receiver, Zay Jones, “continues to come along,” Daboll said. The offensive coordinator says he likes what he has seen since Jones returned to practice.

Running back LeSean McCoy, who turned 30 last month, was described by Daboll as an “excellent practice player,” “a good leader” and “a very good player.”
