Eight local non-profits are benefiting from the Erie Community Foundation’s quarterly grant distribution. More than $4 million are being distributed for numerous good causes.
Each quarter the foundation’s board reviews grant applications and distributes unrestricted money to help local non-profits fulfill their needs.
The eight grants distributed today were to the Achievement Center, the County of Erie, the Erie Playhouse, Mission Empower, Presbyterian Homes, Sunshine Group of Erie, and the Young People’s Chorus of Erie.
The donations will help the non-profits with a variety of projects including technology equipment needs, the summer jobs program, facility enhancements for the Playhouse and programming development.
The Erie Community Foundation also had more than $3 million in donor directed grants and more than $15,000 will go to 14 scholarships.
Officials say they of course couldn’t do it without the help of their donors of the Erie Community Foundation.
