The turk is already beginning his rounds.

Linebacker Manny Lawson and fullback Jerome Felton have been cut by Buffalo. The Bills had until Saturday at 4pm to trim their roster to 53 players, but didn’t bother to wait in releasing 21 players on Friday.

Lawson’s cut is the most surprising since injuries to rookie first round pick Shaq Lawson and I.K. Enemkpali have left the Bills thin at outside linebacker. Lawson was also mentioned by Rex Ryan as a valuable and versatile part of the defense last season.

It’s possible the NFL investigation into Lawson may have something to do with the release. While the linebacker has steadfastly denied any knowledge of why the league is looking into his past, the Bills did acknowledge the investigation is happening.

Lawson was arrested for a domestic violence incident in 2014. He says there was no violence involved. It was only “disorderly conduct”.

An NFL domestic violence suspension generally carries a minimum six game suspension.

The cuts of Lawson and Felton do save the Bills over 4 million dollars against the cap in total. The team began the day with about six million dollars in space and the additional room could assist in negotiations with Stephon Gilmore for a new contract.

Felton’s release could open the door for Glenn Gronkowski to make the team as the fullback.

The Bills also released popular running back James Wilder, Jr.
