Tyrod Taylor is apparently good to go.
Adam Schefter tweeted early Wednesday morning that Taylor has been medically cleared after undergoing core muscle surgery four days after the season ended.
Bills’ Tyrod Taylor, who has $27.5M option bonus due March 11, has been medically cleared from last month’s groin surgery, per team source.— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) February 22, 2017
This is important because, if true, the Bills would not be required to pay Taylor 27.5 million dollars in injury guarantees.
That contract provision was speculated to be a driving force behind the team’s decision to sit Taylor for the final week of the regular season.
The news comes as little surprise. Taylor was expected to be recovered in 6-8 weeks. This Thursday will be seven weeks since the surgery.
The Bills have until March 11th to decide if they want to pick up that option on his contract anyway.
At least now, injury will seemingly not have to be a factor.
