Justin Robinson and #10 Virginia Tech sink Syracuse in Blacksburg

BLACKSBURG, V.A. (WSYR-TV) – –  It was the Justin Robinson show on Saturday night in Blacksburg, VA as the Virginia Tech senior lit up Syracuse in a 78-56 win.

Robinson hit seven first half threes, pouring in 24 of his game-high 35 points in the frame.  The Hokies raced out to a 43-24 lead at the break.

Syracuse closed to within eight midway through the second half, thanks to an 11-0 run.

#10 Virginia Tech answered with a 14-1 run of their own to pull away for the win.

Oshae Brissett led the Orange with 16 points.

Frank Howard add 13 and Tyus Battle chipped in 10 in the loss to the Hokies.

VA Tech knocked down 14 threes, shooting 52 percent from the field.

Syracuse was held to just 32 percent (20-55) from the floor and just 50 percent from the free throw line (7-14).

The loss snaps Syracuse three-game ACC winning streak.  It’s also their first conference road loss of the season.

Syracuse falls to 5-2 in the ACC (14-6 overall).

Next up for SU a trip to Boston College on Wednesday night.
