WSYR-TV – Syracuse University men’s basketball player Frank Howard will not play in the NCAA Tournament for “an indefinite period of time due to a violation of athletic department policy.”

The University did not specify what that violation was.

Howard is coming off a career-high performance of 28 points against Duke in the ACC Tournament.

In the previous game, he dropped 18 points in the win over Pittsburgh.

Howard already missed the first four games of this season dealing with an injury.

He’s averaging just nine points a game this season but is coming off his best two back to back performances.

Syracuse is getting ready to take on No. 9 seed Baylor on Thursday.
