Shortly after Syracuse University Athletic Director Mark Coyle announced he would be leaving SU for a job in Minnesota, SU football legend Floyd Little also said he will be leaving the university.
Little, 73, has been working with the athletic department since 2011 as a Special Assistant to the Athletics Director.
He initially told NewsChannel 9’s Steve Infanti that he will be moving to Las Vegas with his wife next month.
However, Little has since said that given the news of Coyle’s departure, he may be staying longer at SU.
Little’s Orange jersey, No. 44, was retired by the Syracuse football program in 2005 to honor the SU great and the eight other players who wore the number.
Little was inducted into the Hall of Fame in August 2010.
Syracuse University has not named a potential interim athletic director.
