The Orange men’s basketball team is back to .500 in ACC play after taking down Georgia Tech inside the Carrier Dome 60-57.
Syracuse relied on a few late defensive stops and some key free throws to secure the win — their fifth in the past six contests.
The Yellow Jackets had a chance to tie the game with six seconds left to play, but Tadric Jackson missed his second free throw attempt. Freshman Malachi Richardson grabbed the ensuing rebound, then knocked down a pair of free throws, giving SU a 60-57 lead.
Richardson finished with 13 points — all coming in the second half.
Michael Gbinije led the Orange with 16 points, while Dajuan Coleman added 11.
Syracuse (15-8, 5-5 in the ACC) will next host Virginia Tech on Tuesday at 8pm.
