SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WYSR-TV) — Syracuse University basketball standout Tyus Battle has announced that he has signed with RocNationSports in preparation for the NBA Draft.

At the end of March, Battle announced his decision to leave SU in an open letter to fans.

“I have made the decision to embark on the next chapter of my life,” he wrote. “I am fully confident that I am ready because of you.”

A year ago, Battle entered his name in the NBA draft but didn’t hire an agent and ultimately decided to return for his junior year. He said then that he planned to re-enter the draft in 2019.

His signing with an agent means he won’t be returning to Syracuse.

Battle averaged 17.2 points per game throughout the 2018-19 season, earning Third-Team All-ACC honors.

He led Division I in average minutes played with 39.0 throughout the 2017-18 season, averaging 19.2 points per game and earning Second-Team All-ACC honors.
