Rex Ryan had a little to say when Ted Wells’ Deflategate report was issued last week. The Bills head coach called it a “league issue,” adding that he’d comment once something more definitive was determined.
In the wake of the NFL’s punishments handed to Tom Brady and the Patriots, Ryan still refused to stir the pot.
“You just want to beat them. I don’t care who is back there,” said Ryan on Wednesday. “It’s you playing the Patriots, whoever they have, that is the way you look at it. That’s the way we’re going to approach it.”
The Bills are scheduled to host the Patriots in Week 2 this September, during Tom Brady’s 4-game suspension. Despite losing one of the NFL’s elite quarterbacks, Ryan still believes the Pats pose a threat.
“Last I looked it’s still the New England Patriots and they did win the Super Bowl right?” asked Ryan. “I’m not feeling sorry for anybody. We’re going to play. Whoever shows up, we’ll play against them and we’ll be prepared.”
